Nothing about this year's been predictable.
We just had the wettest winter, now flood warnings ⛈️, and I used to hunker down and cozy up on days like these, but lemme tell ya, I did not feel great. My mental health took a massive hit. :(
Sometimes, having the right tools can make getting outside so much easier.
My @Merry People gumboots kept me dry and comfy and helped me get outside regardless of the conditions. 🥾
Those paired with a raincoat and I'm invincible. I barely even check the forecast anymore (when I'm around the city–definitely check it before you hit a trail!!).
Anyways, if I have one tip for getting through the dark days: don't let soggy feet keep you from getting outside.
Living in a region like Washington means you often have to deal with unpredictable weather, especially during the wettest winters and traditional mud seasons. I’ve personally found that having reliable footwear makes all the difference between staying cooped up inside and actually enjoying outdoor time, even on rainy days. Merry People gumboots have been a game changer for me. Not only do they keep my feet completely dry, but they’re surprisingly comfortable for all-day wear. Pairing them with a quality raincoat creates a near-invincible combo that motivates me to head outside regardless of gloomy skies or flood warnings. From my experience, stepping outside—even for a short walk—during those dark and rainy days significantly helps my mental health. When everything around you feels unpredictable, nature provides a grounding, calming effect. It’s essential, though, to prepare properly: check the weather if you’re going on trails, dress in layers, and invest in waterproof gear. Soggy feet can be discouraging, but with the right gumboots, you won’t have to worry about that. In short, don’t let wet weather hold you back from getting out and moving. Your mood and body will thank you, and having dependable gear like Merry People rainboots can make all the difference in seizing those muddy, soggy days.
