... Read moreHey everyone! 👋 I've been obsessed with customizing my iPad homescreen lately, and I just had to share how I created my own 'been love' memory widgets. You know, those special reminders of all the cherished moments and milestones? It's super fun and makes my iPad feel so much more personal! First off, what even is a 'been love memory widget'? Well, for me, it's about transforming my digital space into a scrapbook of joy. It's not necessarily tied to one specific app, but rather a creative way to use existing photo and quote widget apps to display significant memories, dates, or even just sweet messages. My goal was a personalized and aesthetic pink iPad homescreen, and these memory widgets are the heart of it! Step 1: Choosing Your Widget App There are tons of great widget apps out there, but I personally love Widgetsmith or Photo Widget because they offer so much flexibility. The built-in iOS photo widget is also a good starting point if you want something simpler. For my 'been love' theme, I wanted to combine photos with custom text, so an app that allows both was key. Step 2: Curating Your Memories This is the fun part! I went through my camera roll and picked out all the photos that spark joy and bring back lovely memories – maybe a picture from an anniversary, a special trip, or just a silly everyday moment. I also gathered some favorite motivational quotes or short, sweet messages that resonate with my 'been love' theme. You can even include a digital 'January calendar' snapshot or specific dates to mark special occasions. Step 3: Creating Your Photo and Quote Widgets Using my chosen widget app, I created various sizes of personalized widgets. For the photo widgets, I selected my curated pictures. For the quote widgets, I typed in my chosen quotes and selected a cute font and background color that matched my pink aesthetic (like a Hello Kitty icon theme!). I even made a special 'motivational quote widget' to keep spirits high. Step 4: Arranging Your Widgets on the Homescreen Now for the 'widget rearrange' magic! Once your widgets are ready, long-press on an empty space on your iPad homescreen to enter jiggle mode. Then, tap the '+' icon in the top left corner and add your newly created widgets. This is where you get to play around with the placement. I found that clustering related memories together or creating a dedicated 'memory page' (like my 'PAGE 2' in the OCR!) works best. Don't be afraid to experiment with different sizes and positions until it feels just right. I wasn't initially happy with the placement of some of my personal photo widgets, so I just kept moving them around until I had a layout I adored. Step 5: Adding Complementary Widgets To make my memory corner even more practical, I added other useful personalized widgets. For instance, a small reminder widget for upcoming anniversaries or important dates, or a weather widget to see if it's a good day for a memory-making walk! It's all about making your screen both beautiful and functional. It's truly amazing how much a few personalized widgets can transform your iPad. My homescreen now feels like a little piece of my heart, filled with 'been love' memories every time I unlock it! Give it a try and share your creations!
