Individually one of my favorite songs, but brain can you NOT 😩 doing a whole music video lol
We've all been there—lying in bed, trying to fall asleep, but our brains just won't cooperate. It’s like a late-night concert happening in our heads, replaying favorite songs and random thoughts on loop. One of my favorite songs can easily shift from a soothing tune to a mental marathon, making me feel like my brain is doing a music video of its own that I never asked for. This nonstop mental activity often leads to lying awake for what feels like hours, battling with random lyrics, memories, and ideas that pop up unexpectedly. Personally, I find that when this happens, it helps to write down the thoughts or lyrics swirling in my head. Putting those mental 'music videos' on paper somehow frees up some space and calms my mind. Also, limiting screen time before bed and using relaxation techniques like deep breathing or meditation have made a noticeable difference on my ability to finally switch off. This internal chaos can feel like a 'zombie apocalypse' or a chaotic party in the brain, full of chaos and energy that refuses to settle down—much like the lyrics that describe wrestling with mania or being possessed by thoughts. Embracing these moments with a little humor—like imagining your brain as a costumed party crasher—can make the experience less frustrating. If you, like me, have nights where your mind races uncontrollably, remember that you're not alone. Finding personalized strategies to calm this mental noise is key, whether it's through creative outlets, mindfulness, or even just acknowledging the struggle with a smile. By sharing these experiences, we can empower each other to face the 'insomnia and ADHD' of our thoughts with more ease and less stress.
