... Read moreHey everyone! Building on what we just talked about, it's so empowering to know what not to do when anxiety creeps in. But sometimes, understanding why we feel anxious and what else we can actively do makes an even bigger difference. I've been on my own journey managing anxiety, and I've picked up a few more insights I'd love to share! Beyond the habits we discussed like 'skipping meals' and 'not staying hydrated', I've noticed other common anxiety triggers in my own life. Things like too much caffeine, endless social media scrolling, or even just feeling overwhelmed by my to-do list can really intensify that anxious feeling. It's about tuning into your body and mind to identify your unique patterns. When it comes to actively *dealing with anxiety*, I've found these five strategies incredibly helpful: Mindful Minutes: Just 5-10 minutes of focusing on my breath or senses can pull me out of a spiral. There are tons of free apps that guide you! Deep Breathing Exercises: Learning to breathe deeply from my diaphragm instantly calms my nervous system. It's like a secret weapon I carry everywhere. Connect & Share: Talking to a trusted friend or family member, or even writing in a journal, makes me feel less alone and helps process my thoughts. Gentle Movement: A quick walk, some stretching, or dancing to my favorite song helps release pent-up energy and shift my mood. It doesn't have to be a full workout! Set Boundaries: Saying 'no' to commitments that overwhelm me, or stepping away from draining conversations, protects my mental energy. It's okay to prioritize yourself! Sometimes, it's hard to even tell if what we're feeling is anxiety. For me, common symptoms of anxiety include a racing heart, that 'brain fog' feeling the OCR mentioned, shallow breathing, muscle tension, or even just a persistent feeling of dread. Recognizing these helps me intervene earlier. One of the biggest shifts for me was focusing on *things I can control*. I can't always control external events, but I can control my reactions, my daily habits like avoiding 'skipping meals', making sure I'm not 'not staying hydrated' (or rather, am staying hydrated!), and choosing how I spend my time. This mindset is so empowering. And speaking of hydration, the OCR really hit home for me about 'not staying hydrated'. I've personally experienced how dehydration can mimic anxiety symptoms! Things like 'lethargy', 'dizziness', and 'agitation'—all mentioned in the OCR—can make anxiety feel so much worse. Keeping a water bottle handy is such a small change with a huge impact on maintaining energy and reducing that 'brain fog'. Remember, managing anxiety is a continuous journey, not a destination. Small, consistent steps make a big difference. You've got this!

people's picture of anxiety is often different from the reality. it isn’t always sweaty palms, a shaky voice, and panic attacks. sometimes it's a small voice, that only you can hear that constantly reminds you of everything you lack. “you aren’t good enough” “but what if the worst happe
