Starting braces at 28 can feel daunting, but it's been a rewarding experience so far. Each month from January through April 2026, I've noticed small yet meaningful changes in my smile. Initially, adjusting to the discomfort and new routine was challenging, but staying consistent with orthodontist appointments and oral care made a big difference. One thing I've learned is the importance of patience and mindfulness. Braces don't fix your teeth overnight; progress shows in gradual steps. Documenting monthly advancements, like my photos and notes, helped me stay motivated and appreciate the journey. For adults considering braces, it’s crucial to maintain excellent oral hygiene since braces can trap food more easily. Using special toothbrushes and floss picks designed for braces has kept my teeth healthy. Additionally, I avoid overly hard or sticky foods to prevent damage to the brackets. While the journey has its uncomfortable moments, seeing my teeth align more every month is encouraging. It’s definitely a confidence booster. For anyone starting their #bracefacejourney, I recommend joining online communities and sharing your progress to find support and tips. Embrace the process—your perfect smile is worth the effort!
