I can’t manage my rosacea flares

I am in shambles with my skin…

Ever since I went non toxic my skin has gotten worse. I flare so much more.

As much as I hate the idea of not being non toxic, I’m briefly considering using the products I used to use to see if my skin calms🤦🏻‍♀️

The video is too long, rest is on my tik tok!

... Read moreIt feels like a constant battle, doesn't it? That relentless rosacea burning sensation can be so disheartening, especially when you're trying your best to find products that don't make things worse. I've been there, staring at ingredient lists, feeling completely overwhelmed by what might trigger another flare. My skin has gone through so much, and honestly, the trial-and-error process can be incredibly frustrating. One of the biggest lessons I've learned is that what works for one person with rosacea might be a nightmare for another. However, after countless hours of research and working closely with my dermatologist, I've identified some common culprits and soothing heroes. My images really highlighted many of the key harsh ingredients to avoid: things like *alcohol*, *strong fragrances*, *witch hazel*, *menthol*, *peppermint*, and *camphor*. These can truly irritate sensitive skin and worsen burning. I also learned to be wary of physical and chemical exfoliants like AHAs (glycolic acid, lactic acid) and BHAs (salicylic acid), as well as many *retinoids*, which can cause significant inflammation. For a long time, I was also confused about *occlusive products*. I even thought loading my face with Vaseline was a good idea, only to find conflicting information! But thankfully, pure Vaseline (petroleum jelly) is generally considered safe for rosacea due to its non-irritating, hypoallergenic nature and ability to protect the skin barrier, as long as it doesn't trap other irritants. Now, let's talk about some popular brands that often come up in discussions about rosacea-friendly skincare. Many of you, like me, might wonder about brands like Cerave and La Roche-Posay. I've found that *Cerave's sunscreen products*, particularly their mineral sunscreens with zinc oxide or *titanium dioxide*, are often recommended because they tend to be non-comedogenic and less likely to cause irritation compared to chemical sunscreens (which can contain ingredients like oxybenzone or avobenzone that *can irritate sensitive skin*). Always check the specific product label, but their hydrating cleansers and moisturizers, often packed with ceramides and *hyaluronic acid*, are usually a safe bet for maintaining a healthy skin barrier without triggering flares. *La Roche-Posay* is another brand frequently praised for its sensitive skin formulations. Their products, especially those from the Toleriane line, are designed to minimize irritation. I’ve found their thermal spring water mists incredibly soothing for *rosacea burning*, and their moisturizers often help reduce redness and strengthen the barrier. They also offer excellent mineral sunscreens that provide broad-spectrum protection without the harsh chemicals. When considering any new product, especially from these brands, I can't stress enough the importance of a *patch-test*! Apply a tiny amount to an inconspicuous area for a few days to ensure no adverse reaction. Beyond specific products, managing rosacea burning involves a holistic approach. I try to stick to gentle, non-foaming, fragrance-free cleansers and focus on hydration. Avoiding extreme temperatures, spicy foods, and excessive sun exposure are also key. It's a journey of understanding your unique triggers and finding a routine that calms, rather than aggravates, your skin. Remember, consistent, gentle care is often more effective than jumping between harsh treatments.

So when I was younger I went to a dermatologist; she mentioned to looked for anything noncomedogenic . I too have rosacea and have been using cerave both the moisturizer and cleanser ( I apologize if they don’t mark off both boxes )
