never thought the Golden Rule would ever be considered ✨radical✨. #fdt #minnesota #fyp
Growing up, I’ve often heard the Golden Rule — "treat others as you wish to be treated" — described as simple common sense. Yet, reflecting on it now, it strikes me how this principle can feel radical in certain societal contexts. For example, in some communities, practicing empathy and kindness openly can challenge prevailing attitudes, almost as if these virtues are rebellious acts in a polarized world. I’ve noticed how music, storytelling, and personal experiences heavily influence what people consider "radical." Songs with powerful messages have shaped many people's perspectives, encouraging them to question norms by embracing compassion. From personal experience, when I started applying the Golden Rule more consciously, it transformed my interactions. In places like Minnesota, where community values and cultural diversity intersect, kindness acts as a bridge breaking down barriers — sometimes met with skepticism, but often with surprising acceptance. This shift in perception suggests that what was once seen as ordinary human decency now carries a revolutionary weight. Maybe in today's environment, being radically kind is a form of activism, quietly reshaping how people connect and support each other.
