Self care routine✨✨
Relax with me 🧖🏾♀️🤍
Hey everyone! You know how important it is to carve out a little time just for yourself, especially when life gets hectic. My original post was just a little glimpse into my unwinding ritual, and I got so many questions about what exactly my self-care routine looks like. So, I wanted to dive deeper and share my go-to list of simple steps that truly help me relax and recharge. This isn't about grand gestures; it's about finding those small, consistent moments of peace. For me, a perfect self-care routine often starts in the evening, setting the tone for a restful night and a refreshed morning. 1. The Warm Bath Ritual (My Ultimate Unwind) There’s nothing quite like sinking into a warm bath after a long day. I love to add some Epsom salts for muscle relaxation and a few drops of lavender essential oil – the scent instantly calms my mind. Sometimes I’ll even throw in a bath bomb for an extra bubbly treat. This isn't just about getting clean; it's about creating a tranquil space where I can just breathe, let go of the day's stresses, and completely relax my body. I usually put on some calming music or just enjoy the peaceful silence. 2. Skincare & Self-Massage Moment After my bath, I dedicate a few minutes to my skincare routine. It feels like a ritual of self-love. Beyond just my face, I also take the time to moisturize my entire body, often giving myself a gentle foot or hand massage. This physical touch can be incredibly grounding and helps me connect with my body, appreciating all it does for me. It’s a sensory experience that signals to my brain that it's time to slow down and prepare for rest. 3. Digital Detox & Mindful Reading One of the most crucial parts of my evening routine is putting away my phone and turning off the TV at least an hour before bed. Instead, I pick up a physical book. It could be a novel, a self-help book, or even a magazine. The act of reading allows my mind to escape without the blue light stimulation of screens, helping me transition into sleep more easily. Sometimes I'll sip on a calming herbal tea, like chamomile or peppermint, while I read. 4. Journaling for Clarity Before I completely switch off, I often spend 5-10 minutes journaling. I don't pressure myself to write anything profound; sometimes it's just a brain dump of thoughts and feelings from the day. Other times, I'll jot down a few things I'm grateful for. This practice helps me process emotions, clear my head, and often gives me a sense of perspective. It’s a wonderful way to end the day feeling lighter and more organized in my thoughts. 5. Gentle Stretching or Meditation Just before getting into bed, I like to do a few minutes of gentle stretching or a short guided meditation. Simple stretches help release any remaining physical tension, and a quick meditation session (even 5 minutes!) helps quiet my busy mind. There are so many free apps and videos available for this, making it super accessible. It’s the perfect way to signal to my body and mind that it's truly time for sleep. This self-care routine isn't rigid; I adapt it based on my energy levels and what I need on a particular day. But having this list of go-to rituals makes it so much easier to prioritize my well-being. Remember, self-care isn't selfish; it's essential for showing up as your best self. I hope sharing my routine gives you some ideas to create your own peaceful moments!
