God Releases His Power as You Walk in Obedient Faith
Joshua 3:13 (LSB)
“And it will be that when the soles of the feet of the priests who carry the ark of Yahweh, the Lord of all the earth, rest in the waters of the Jordan, the waters of the Jordan will be cut off…”
Just as the priests stepped into the Jordan before its waters parted, so your obedience is preparing the way for the demonstration of God's power.
The Lord is saying,
“I have already made the next step clear before you. I have confirmed My direction through My Word, I have heard your prayers, and I have borne witness within you by My Spirit. Do not allow the unchanged landscape before your eyes to diminish your trust. Trust Me, and walk by faith, not by sight. As you walk in faithful obedience to what I have already spoken to you, I will go before you and reveal My power in ways you have not yet seen.”
The Lord is releasing fresh courage to those who have grown weary in the waiting. Fear has sought to delay what faith is prepared to inherit, yet the Spirit of God is strengthening His people to arise and move forward. The waters that have stood before you will yield before the presence of the Lord who goes before you.
As you walk in obedient faith, He will establish your steps, make a way where there has seemed to be no way, and bring you into the inheritance He has prepared. This is an hour to trust His voice above what your eyes can see, for the God who called you is faithful to fulfill every word He has spoken. Walk in obedience, stand firm in faith, and watch as the Lord prepares the way before you by His mighty power.
... Read moreWalking in obedient faith is often easier said than done, especially when the path ahead looks uncertain or daunting. Reflecting on the story of the priests stepping into the Jordan River before it parted, I’ve found that obedience isn't about having perfect understanding or immediate results. It’s about trusting God's promises—His Word—and moving forward even when the landscape hasn’t changed.
One powerful experience I had was during a particularly challenging season in my life when opportunities seemed blocked and progress stalled. Like the waters of the Jordan, obstacles appeared insurmountable. But leaning into faithful obedience—choosing to act according to God’s direction despite what my eyes saw—I witnessed unexpected breakthroughs. Doors opened, guidance became clear, and peace replaced anxiety.
This journey helped me realize that God's power is often released through our willingness to step out in faith first. The act of obedience itself, even when it feels risky or confusing, invites God to show up in extraordinary ways. The Spirit strengthens us, infuses fresh courage, and makes a way where no way existed before. When fear tries to delay us, faithful obedience becomes our anchor.
Practically, I encourage anyone walking a similar path to daily immerse themselves in God’s Word, seek confirmation through prayer, and remain attentive to the Spirit’s promptings. Trusting God’s voice above what we see develops resilience and deepens our relationship with Him. Remember, the inheritance He has prepared won’t come by looking at current realities but by walking forward in confident obedience.
Ultimately, the journey of obedient faith is a transformational process. It not only changes our circumstances but molds our character, aligning it more closely with God’s purpose. And as we stand firm in faith, we become living testimonies of His mighty power preparing the way before us.
