🥗🥙Made some homemade chicken tikka, packed with bold spices and tender, flavorful bites! Paired it with perfectly sautéed spinach for a delicious and satisfying meal. Nothing beats a good home-cooked plate!
Decided to make some homemade chicken tikka, and let me tell you—the flavors did not disappoint! The chicken was marinated in a rich blend of yogurt, ginger-garlic paste, and a mix of spices like cumin, coriander, turmeric, red chili powder, and garam masala. I even added a touch of Kashmiri chili powder for a milder heat, along with a squeeze of fresh lemon juice to bring out all those bold flavors. Letting it marinate really made a difference, making the chicken extra tender and flavorful.
Main Ingredients for Chicken Tikka:
Boneless chicken breasts or thighs, cut into bite-sized pieces
Yogurt (helps tenderize the chicken and add flavor)
Ginger-garlic paste (for deep, aromatic flavor)
Spices:
Cumin powder
Coriander powder
Turmeric powder
Red chili powder
Garam masala
Kashmiri chili powder (for milder heat)
Other optional ingredients:
Lemon juice (for a tangy kick)
Chaat masala (for extra flavor)
Kasuri methi (dried fenugreek leaves for a hint of earthiness)
After letting all those spices soak in, I cooked the chicken to perfection, giving it that signature deep color and irresistible aroma. To balance it all out, I paired it with some perfectly sautéed spinach—simple, fresh, and packed with nutrients. The combination was everything!
There’s just something about a homemade meal that hits differently, especially when it’s made with fresh ingredients and a little extra love. I’m Definitely making this again!

Cooking can be a therapeutic process, especially when dealing with anxiety. The act of preparing a meal like chicken tikka not only distracts from worries but also allows for creative expression in the kitchen. This recipe incorporates a rich blend of spices like cumin, coriander, and garam masala, which not only enhance flavor but also offer various health benefits. For instance, cumin is known to aid digestion, while turmeric has anti-inflammatory properties. Sautéing spinach adds essential vitamins and minerals, contributing to a well-rounded meal. Pairing chicken tikka with sautéed spinach is a common practice in many cuisines, balancing the richness of spices with the freshness of greens. When cooking, try to allow yourself six senses to engage—visualize the vibrant colors of the spices, feel the textures of the ingredients, and listen to the sizzle in the pan. Such mindfulness not only makes the cooking experience more enjoyable but can also reduce feelings of anxiety. Cook this meal for yourself or share it with loved ones; the warmth of a home-cooked dish shared with family or friends creates bonds and memories that can uplift the spirit. If you're feeling adventurous, consider experimenting with other ingredients like chaat masala or kasuri methi to add extra zest to your dish.
