How Gardening Became My Therapy

Living in the city, my balcony garden is like my santuary. I started without knowing anything, just following my instincts and searching online. Being able to grow my own food feels so satisfying and has given me so much joy and a new connection with nature.

The gardening journey hasn’t been as easy as I thought (haha, there’s always a new pest!), but it’s totally worth it! 😍

🌿Gardening has help me to:

– Find joy and peace; it has become my way to recharge and feel happiness.

– Be patient

– Believe in myself and the process

– Connect with myself and nature

– Learn to care more; I don’t have kids yet, so my plants have become my little responsibility. I’ve become more attentive and mindful, even worrying about them when I’m away.

My plants have become a big part of my life. They’re a daily reminder to slow down and enjoy the little things.

... Read moreGardening can be a restorative practice that enhances well-being by fostering mindfulness and patience. The simple act of watering and watching your plants grow allows you to disconnect from everyday stressors and reconnect with the rhythms of life. Whether you are starting with seeds or nurturing established plants, the experience teaches valuable lessons about resilience and care. Many urban dwellers find that tending to their gardens helps them slow down and truly appreciate the moment. In addition, incorporating various plant species enriches your gardening experience. For example, growing herbs like fennel not only enhances your meals but also deepens your connection to the gardening process. It’s important to recognize that every gardening journey comes with challenges, such as dealing with pests or understanding how different plants thrive. Embracing these challenges can lead to personal growth and a sense of fulfillment. Joining gardening communities online or locally can provide support and inspiration for both novice and experienced gardeners. Sharing tips, exchanging plants, and celebrating achievements fosters a sense of belonging and enhances the therapeutic aspects of gardening. As you embark on your gardening journey, remember that the process is as valuable as the results, offering lessons in patience, nurturing, and the joy of cultivating life.
