New relationship= New you?

Has anyone found that once in a relationship what you once found interesting/ what you invested your time into wasn't the same?

2025/10/16 Edited to

... Read moreHey everyone! I've been thinking a lot about the original question – does a new relationship really mean a "new you"? For me, the answer has been a resounding yes, especially when it comes to what I want in a relationship and how my interests have evolved. Before my current relationship, I had a pretty set routine and specific hobbies. I'd spend my evenings reading fantasy novels and practicing my photography. I thought I knew exactly what I wanted in a partner: someone who shared all my niche interests. But as things got serious, I started noticing a shift. Suddenly, I wasn't just looking for someone to share my existing world; I was open to exploring new worlds with them. My partner introduced me to hiking, something I never imagined I'd enjoy, and now it's one of my favorite weekend activities. It's exactly like that intriguing question I saw, framed in blue text, asking if interests truly change after entering a relationship – it's been so true for me! This evolution wasn't about losing myself, but about expanding. It made me realize that "what I want in a relationship" isn't just a static list of traits or shared hobbies; it's also about growth and mutual discovery. When you're truly falling in love with someone, you start to see their passions not as separate, but as potential avenues for shared joy. It's a subtle sign, I think, of how to know if you are falling in love with someone – when their happiness from their hobbies genuinely brings you happiness, and you're willing to step outside your comfort zone to experience it with them. I found myself genuinely excited to learn about their interests, not just to appease them, but because I saw a new side of them, and us, through those activities. However, it's also super important to maintain your own identity and individual passions. Not all relationships are the same – there are many types of relationships, from highly intertwined to more independent ones. In a healthy interdependent relationship, there's a beautiful balance. While I've picked up new interests, I also make sure to carve out time for my photography and reading. It's about blending lives, not dissolving one into the other. Communication is key here. Talking about how you feel about these changes, what you're willing to try, and what you still need for yourself creates a stronger bond. It ensures that while you're growing together, you're also growing as individuals. Have you noticed your own interests shifting when you're in love, and how do you balance new shared activities with your long-held passions? I'd love to hear your thoughts!

CHANGES WHEN YOU GO FROM DATING TO A RELATIONSHIP
Dating and being in a relationship are two distinct journeys. Dating is about exploring new connections, having fun, and discovering what you want. A relationship, on the other hand, involves building a deeper bond, sharing life’s ups and downs, and growing together. #lovestory #dairysummer
