We had a fire!!!! But I still did my Bible reading

We had a fire yesterday! Within 15 minutes of starting my dryer I smelled smoke. I immediately investigated and called 911. I got myself and my four year old out with plenty of time to spare. The smoke got to more than the fire did but I’m really just grateful to still be here with my daughter. The situation could have been worse. I cried and thanked God so hard yesterday because he really heard my cries and my prayers to not let it spread!!! I still have to replace a lot of stuff but not as much as I thought I would.

Today I’m staying with family trying to figure out what’s next. I made time to still go to church ( online) and then do my daily bible reading! Today is Day 53 of The Bible Recap and I finished up Leviticus! Woohoo!! I also decided at the beginning of December to read a chapter of Proverbs a day and man has it been great so far!!!! Bible reading can offer comfort, guidance, and a sense of normalcy amid turmoil. I've been following The Bible Recap, which provides a structured approach to reading the Bible in a year, making it easier to engage with the text and find meaning. Day 53 brought me to Leviticus, a book often overlooked. It teaches important lessons about community, discipline, and the value of worship. I also committed to reading a chapter from Proverbs daily, allowing me to soak in its wisdom and apply its teachings to my life. Proverbs emphasizes the importance of discernment, humility, and the power of wise counsel, all crucial virtues to embrace during challenging times.
