2025 has been a different kind of year… 😭
& before anyone says “oh you didn’t clean” — I actually hired an inspector and the results on why this happened is clearly the apartments fault… not to mention I’ve stayed at this complex for almost 3 years and I decided to move into a different unit for my 3rd year, before I bought a house m, and in 4 months of me moving into it this happened.
I’m so thankful I was able to stay with my family while looking for a new place, and got such good advice from family and friends because I’ve never been in a situation like this before, management was gaslighting me about it and basically blaming me. I have had to throw away so many of my belongings recently (even after being cleaned because the mold came back).
I’m just thankful I’m able to start over, and I’m grateful I do have such a good support system of family and friends, and customers / /supporters. 🤎the amount of people that checked in on me and gave me advice + knowledge is insane. Thank you all so much. 🩷 this transition was very wild but I’m excited for the future 💕
Now October 2025 let’s go 😭👊🏽😩💕@Kala Kouture
Black mold infestations in apartments can be a serious issue, often leading to health concerns and significant disruption, as experienced by many renters including those who find themselves unexpectedly needing to start over. In situations like this, it is important to understand what black mold is and the steps you can take to protect yourself and your belongings. Black mold, or Stachybotrys chartarum, typically grows in damp or water-damaged environments, making apartments prone to it if there is poor maintenance or leaks. It produces spores that may cause respiratory problems and allergic reactions, so identifying and addressing mold early is crucial. Tenants should seek professional inspections to assess the extent of mold growth and require landlords to remedy the problem promptly. If you find mold returning after cleaning, it often highlights underlying issues such as leaks or humidity that must be corrected. Documentation of mold presence, communications with apartment management, and, if necessary, legal advice can help renters safeguard their rights. Mold problems sometimes lead to the need to discard affected belongings, which can be emotionally and financially taxing. The experience also underscores the value of a support system. Friends, family, and even online communities can offer advice, emotional support, and practical help during uncertain times. Moving to a new place, though challenging, opens the door for a fresh start and better living conditions. For anyone dealing with mold infestations, be proactive: monitor your apartment for dampness, maintain ventilation, and report issues immediately. Understanding your rights and having trusted advisers makes navigating this difficult experience more manageable. Remember, you’re not alone in facing such challenges, and sharing your story can help others prepare and respond effectively to black mold problems in rental housing.

Ok but did you sue the complex?
