Journey to a Better Me

🌞 Day 3: spent some time enjoying the weather to reconnect with my thought. One of my biggest hurdles is remembering that I can only control myself and how I react, but I can’t control the actions of others.

In my own perfect world I could just flip a switch and get others to treat me that way I want to be treated. But I love here on earth and that option hasn’t been invented yet. Instead I can take my time and remember that I have every power over how I conduct myself and treat others. I control how I show up in relationships, and I control what I do and do not accept in my life.

It’s an active practice for me to remember to pause and reflect. Anxiety for me feels like a lack of control of the situation or environment. But once I remove the expectation of controlling everything around me, I can feel confident in how I move through the world

Practicing mindfulness allows individuals to pause, reflect, and respond rather than react impulsively. Techniques such as deep breathing, journaling, or meditation can significantly assist in navigating through anxiety, providing clarity, and fostering emotional stability. By embracing change and vulnerability, we open ourselves up to new experiences and opportunities for growth. Remember, the journey to a better self is not a race, but a process of learning to love oneself more profoundly and accept the things we cannot change.
