Isla Wright story last part of PT. 2
It's funny how life works, isn't it? One moment, I, Ms. Isla, was convinced I was just a 'no-good healer,' constantly second-guessing myself. The next, I'm being asked to join the Strike Squad on another raid! 'Yes, we need you, Ms. Isla,' they said. Can you imagine? After all my doubts, hearing those words from Strike Squad Member 1 felt like a huge weight lifted, and at the same time, it brought a whole new set of questions. I mean, I'm just a healer, right? My job is to patch people up, keep everyone going, and try not to get in the way. But with this new, bigger raid looming, I can't shake this strange feeling. It’s like, in every manga story I've ever read, there's always a twist. The seemingly innocent companion, the one everyone relies on, sometimes turns out to be... well, something else. A potential antagonist, perhaps? Or even worse, an unwitting instrument in someone else's grand, possibly sinister, plan. I keep thinking about what being an 'instrument' really means. Am I just a tool to be used? My healing magic is powerful, yes, but what if it can be twisted? What if the 'good things' they praised me for after our last mission were just part of a larger manipulation? It's a scary thought, especially when you're trying your best to be brave and do the right thing. I look at my hands, the same hands I use to mend wounds, and wonder if they could ever inadvertently cause harm, or serve a cause I don't believe in. This upcoming raid is further out, they said. More dangerous, I assume. It makes me wonder about the true objective. Are we truly fighting for justice, or is there a hidden agenda? I've seen enough manga to know that not everything is as it seems. Sometimes the heroes are flawed, and sometimes the lines between good and evil are blurred. Could I, Isla Wright, actually be a piece in a puzzle I don't fully understand? Could my role as a companion be a facade for something deeper, something that could push me towards becoming a potential antagonist without even realizing it? It’s a lot to process for someone who just wants to heal and help. But I guess that’s what makes a story interesting, right? This journey isn't just about battling monsters or completing missions; it's also about battling my own fears and figuring out where my loyalties truly lie. I need to keep on being brave, not just in the face of danger, but in the face of these unsettling possibilities. I believe I am doing the right thing, but I also need to be vigilant. What if the 'we need you' they said is true, but not in the way I think? What if my healing powers are exactly what someone, or something, needs to achieve a goal that isn't good? It's a thought that truly sends shivers down my spine, but I have to face it, just like any good manga protagonist would.
