Seeing my Agumon sketch and line art get so much love really makes my day! I wanted to share a bit more about my process and some tips for anyone looking to try drawing Agumon or other Digimon characters themselves. It’s truly rewarding to bring these digital monsters to life with just a pencil and paper, or even digitally! If you're wondering how to draw Agumon, I always recommend starting with a light red pencil sketch. This allows you to block out the main shapes and proportions without committing too early. Think of Agumon's head as a rounded triangle, and his body as an egg shape. His arms and legs are quite chunky but have distinct joints. Don't be afraid to use reference images! Once you're happy with the basic form, you can refine the details like his scales, claws, and that iconic grin with his sharp teeth. After the sketch is solid, that’s when I move on to the black ink line art. I personally love using a black marker for bold lines, but fine-liners work great too for more intricate details. This step really makes the drawing pop and gives it that classic anime look. Speaking of tools, while I went traditional for this Agumon piece, using a mechanical pencil for the initial sketch and a marker for the final lines, many artists are exploring digital options. For those interested in phones for digital artists, there are some fantastic apps out there that can turn your device into a portable art studio.
