One of my favorite parts of traveling with the dogs is finding the little places you’d never discover otherwise.
When we were in Portland, Maine, we stopped into @Uncommon Paws and instantly fell in love. Every shelf had something unique, the brands we LOVE, and you could tell how much care goes into what they carry. One of my favorite things was their in-house line of collars, leashes, bandanas, and bows… it’s always special finding pieces that are made right there, not mass-produced somewhere far away. We couldn’t not get Rupert a lobster collar and the big boys some of their bandanas.
These are the moments I love most. Exploring new places, letting the dogs experience the world with me, and finding shops like this that make a trip feel even more special.
Portland, you were such a good stop.
Have you ever found a pet store while traveling that you absolutely loved? I’m always looking for new ones to add to our list. #dogtok #dogsoftiktok #doglover #maine #pets
Traveling with dogs isn’t just about the destinations, but also about the unique experiences you discover together. When you visit pet stores like Uncommon Paws in Portland, Maine, it transforms the trip into something truly memorable. This store stands out because it’s more than a typical pet shop — it carries carefully selected brands that pet owners love and offers an exclusive line of locally made collars, leashes, bandanas, and bows that you won’t find elsewhere. What I find most special about such shops is their commitment to quality and local craftsmanship. Unlike mass-produced pet accessories, these items have a distinct charm and character, reflecting the store’s dedication to supporting local artisans and providing pets with stylish, durable gear. When traveling, picking up a unique accessory like Rupert’s lobster collar not only adds a souvenir aspect to your trip but also supports small businesses. Beyond shopping, these stops are incredible chances to soak in the local vibe, meet fellow pet lovers, and gain inspiration for your dog's style.
