My dogs are absolutely destroying my confidence because at this point I never know if I'm actually invited when they bring up "play." 😂
After Palmer made it very clear that he wanted something... but that I was NOT included... I wasn't about to assume anything.
So when Flambo said, "friend" "play," I had no idea if he was talking about Palmer, who was already playing in the other room, or if he was actually inviting me.
Turns out I was included this time. 🥹
A win is a win, and I'll be riding the high of being chosen for playtime until further notice. #dogsoftiktok #fyp #talkingdog #australianshepherd #dogsthattalk
Having dogs that seem to communicate can be both amusing and sometimes a bit bewildering. From my experience, trying to understand whether my dogs are inviting me to join their play often feels like decoding a secret language. For instance, when a dog uses sounds or gestures like “play” or “friend,” it’s not always clear if that invitation is meant for you or their furry companion nearby. I’ve noticed that Australian Shepherds, in particular, are quite expressive and intelligent, often seeming to understand a lot more than we give them credit for. It’s such a rewarding feeling when they actually include you in their activities because it reinforces the special bond between you. Sometimes, these moments give you a confidence boost, making you feel like a true pack member. Engaging with dogs who 'talk' via barks, whines, or gestures can also be a great way to improve your own awareness and responsiveness as a pet owner. It encourages you to pay closer attention to your dogs’ behaviors and social cues. Plus, sharing these funny and touching interactions on platforms like TikTok not only brings joy to others but also builds a community of dog lovers who appreciate unique canine personalities. Remember, even if you sometimes feel left out of their games, those times when you are invited to play are worth celebrating and cherishing. It’s a reminder that your dogs trust and love you enough to include you in their world—an experience that every dog owner can relate to and appreciate deeply.
