THICK WAFFLES OUTSIDE CHINATOWN HAWKER 🧇

📍 take a bré

this waffle stall is tucked away in chinatown, right outside the hawker centre! it’s the perfect spot to grab a quick snack or dessert, with a wide range of both sweet and savoury flavours 🧇

their classics include nutella, biscoff and cream cheese, alongside singaporean favourites like kaya butter (great for tourists who want a local touch 😆). if you’re looking for something more filling, try their truffle ham & cheese. it has a satisfying mix of protein and carbs that works well as a light meal 🧀🍖

what really stood out to me was the waffle texture. it’s crisp on the outside but chewy and almost kueh-like on the inside, making every bite super satisfying 🤤 the waffle is also THICKK, not those thin flimsy ones you get elsewhere, so you’re definitely getting both quality and quantity here.

the stall is located in a quieter corner and doesn’t get as much foot traffic, so do support them if you’re nearby or if you’re a fan of traditional waffles! definitely one of the better ones i’ve tried 🙂

... Read moreIf you’re exploring Chinatown and craving a unique waffle experience, this stall is a must-visit. The variety ranges from classic sweet toppings like Nutella and Biscoff to local favorites such as kaya butter, which gives a genuine Singaporean twist. For something heartier, their truffle ham & cheese waffle packs the perfect balance of protein and carbs, ideal for a light meal on the go. What makes these waffles stand out is their texture—a crisp surface combined with a thick, almost kueh-like chewy interior. It's a refreshing change from typical thin waffles, promising both quality and satisfying portions. From personal experience, having their waffles paired with a drink makes for a quick, filling snack perfect for busy days exploring Chinatown. Don’t miss out on flavors you might not find elsewhere, like the black truffle paste in the savoury waffles, elevating traditional hawker fare to something special. The stall itself is tucked away in a quieter corner, which means fewer crowds and a peaceful spot to enjoy your treat. Supporting small hawkers like this helps keep the vibrant food culture alive, so if you’re nearby, give it a try—you won’t regret it!

美食 @ 兀里村小贩中心 Woodleigh Village Hawker Centre
Went to dine at Woodleigh Village Hawker Centre. There are quite a few stalls which kind of tempted me to move towards them and order the foods. Tried the following food stalls: 1) Penang Man 槟城人 I was asking the stall lady for recommendation and ordered their Penang Prawn Mee (Dry) 槟城虾面 $5.50.

My favorite hawker tart shop- cat in the hat I first discovered Cat in the Hat back in 2023, when COVID was just fading and life was slowly finding its rhythm again. Back then, they weren’t internet-famous yet, no long queues, just a quiet little stall with an impressive selection of tarts and b

From Hawker Stall to Restaurant 🇰🇷
My go-to Korean restaurant whenever I crave Korean comfort food. Jeong's Jjajang actually started as a hawker stall near Outram Park MRT Station a few years ago, and now they’ve expanded into a proper restaurant with more menu variety (and of course… slightly higher prices). Here’s what we or
