👍/👎 Does Pilates help with flexibility🧐

YES! Pilates focuses on controlled movements that lengthen and strengthen muscles. It emphasizes proper posture, alignment, and mobility.

Exercises like leg stretches and spine twists target tight areas. Dynamic stretches improve range of motion over time.

So, regular Pilates practice can make you more flexible, balanced, and agile. It's perfect for people of all fitness levels!

Having a good stretch routine you can follow no matter where you are is helpful as well, and why I mention the stretch app Bend in this post. It was a gem in the sand I got turned onto by a friend and now have become a daily user of it. And you can do almost all with the free version of the app, except you don’t have the full library and can only follow one guided stretch routine a day. But you can still view and pull the stretches and see the tips tricks modifications and video demonstration of how to properly stretch with each of them.

On top of all that, there’s absolutely no upfront cost to try it or free trial to forget to cancel. All you need to do is download the Bend app, use referral code FIRST, and your good to go. The code unlocks a lifetime discount on the premium version of the app should you ever decide to upgrade; and I think it’s why I can do any one follow along guided routine a day and not just the wake up routine I’ve heard others say the free plan is limited to… it’s either that or maybe using it daily to get a streak going. Those were the only things I’ve done as I’m still on the free plan (and use it everyday). I hope it can bring as much help to your healthy living as it has to mine🫶

How to get flexible fast How to flexibility

North Carolina
2024/12/4 Edited to

... Read moreWhen I first started my fitness journey, flexibility felt like a distant dream. I'd heard whispers about how Pilates could help, but I was skeptical. Fast forward a few months, and I can confidently say: yes, Pilates truly helps with flexibility! It's not just about reaching your toes; it's about improving your overall range of motion, balance, and agility, which makes everyday life so much easier. My personal experience has shown me that the focus on controlled movement in Pilates is key. It’s not about forceful stretching, but about gently lengthening and strengthening muscles. For anyone looking to specifically target their legs, I've found that various pilates leg stretch exercises are incredibly effective. You don't always need a fancy reformer machine to get started. Many fundamental pilates leg workout floor exercises, like simple leg lifts and hamstring stretches, can be done right at home. I love incorporating pilates leg lifts floor exercise into my warm-up now – they really help wake up my muscles. For those with access to a studio, the pilates reformer leg stretch exercise is a game-changer. Using the reformer allows for assisted stretching, letting you go deeper safely. I remember the first time I did a *pilates reformer leg stretch with legs in straps*; it felt like my hamstrings were finally getting the attention they needed! Similarly, for upper body and spine flexibility, the pilates spinal twist stretch is fantastic. Whether it's a pilates reformer spine stretch exercise or the spinal twist stretch floor variant, these movements gently decompress your spine and improve rotation, which is vital for good posture and preventing stiffness. Beyond just the exercises, consistency is what truly makes a difference. That's where a good stretching & flexibility app comes into play. I stumbled upon 'Bend' (the one I mentioned before), and it has become an indispensable part of my routine. It's packed with video demonstrations, tips, and modifications that ensure I'm doing each stretch correctly, whether it's a standing leg stretch or a seated twist. The app even helps me track my progress, which is super motivating. Learning how to properly execute these movements, understanding the 'why' behind each one, and having a structured routine has made my journey to better flexibility so much smoother. If you're looking for an accessible way to integrate more stretching into your life, definitely check out a reputable flexibility app – it's like having a personal instructor in your pocket!
