Reflecting on how childhood has changed over the years, it's clear that the pace and nature of growing up have evolved dramatically. When I think back to my own experiences as a child, the simple joys of playing outdoors, carefree imagination, and close-knit friendships stand out. Nowadays, kids have access to an incredible array of technology and activities, which, while exciting, often means that they mature faster and face different kinds of challenges. The phrase "Kids now vs then" often brings up feelings of nostalgia for a slower, perhaps simpler time. For example, many of us remember playing with our friends outside until sunset, inventing games with whatever we found around us, and truly soaking in the magic of childhood. Today's children, while growing faster, are exposed to a world full of information, social media, and various external pressures that can shape their development in new ways. In terms of quality and value, whether it’s toys or products like those mentioned from Sephora or other brands geared toward kids, there is a notable shift towards not only physical play but also digital interaction. This can lead to mixed feelings: gratitude for opportunities and advancement, yet a desire to hold onto simpler moments. #childhoodvibes became a hashtag for many feeling this way – reminiscing and sharing their own memories. Personally, embracing change while honoring the past has been my approach. Encouraging children to balance modern influences with traditional play and personal connections can foster a more meaningful childhood experience. So while I don’t oppose their growth and maturing, I do wish some of that old magic stayed longer, because those memories shape who we become.
