3 tips for The Clown in Dead By Daylight!
3 tips to get better at The Clown in Dead By Daylight!
Hey everyone! After spending countless hours chasing survivors with The Clown, I wanted to share some deeper insights that have really upped my game. Beyond the initial tips, mastering this killer is all about strategic gas deployment and understanding survivor movement. One thing I've found incredibly effective is learning to chain your Afterpiece Tonic throws. Instead of just one bottle, try to predict their path and throw a second or even third bottle to completely cut off their escape route. This is especially potent around strong loops. If you can force them to drop a pallet in a bad spot or run into a dead end, you've already won that chase. Remember what the original tips hinted at about hitting objects higher up to spread the gas? That's golden advice! Aim for trees, walls, or even the top of structures near a pallet to get a wider cloud, covering more of the loop. It's fantastic for denying those crucial vaults and loops, just like the initial tips mentioned. Another personal strategy I swear by is managing my Afterpiece Antidote. While the original tip mentioned using it for faster hooking after a down – which is super useful for cutting down travel time to the hook, especially if it's far – I also use it strategically during chases. If I know a survivor is injured and trying to heal or make distance, throwing an Antidote bottle at myself or ahead of me gives me a speed boost to close the gap. It can be the difference between getting a down and letting them escape. It feels so satisfying when you time it right and catch them off guard! When it comes to perks, I’ve found a few that really synergize with The Clown's power. 'Pop Goes the Weasel' is almost a must-have for gen regression, letting you apply pressure after hooks. 'Bamboozle' works wonders with your Afterpiece Tonic; block a window with gas, then Bamboozle the same window to deny it completely. Survivors get so confused! For tracking, 'Barbecue & Chili' is fantastic for aura reading and points, helping you find your next target. Sometimes I also run 'Corrupt Intervention' to slow down the early game and force survivors into specific areas where my gas can be most effective. And for add-ons? I usually gravitate towards ones that extend the gas duration, like 'Bottle of Pills,' or increase the intoxication effect, such as 'Cheap Gin.' These make your zoning even more oppressive and give you more time to capitalize on slowed or blurred survivors. The 'Fingerless Parade Gloves' are great too, letting you reload faster, which is crucial if you're in a prolonged chase. Remember, The Clown’s strength lies in his area denial and slowing capabilities. Don't be afraid to throw bottles proactively to zone survivors away from generators or exit gates. Practice your aim, learn the maps, and predict survivor movements. With these expanded tips and a bit of practice, you’ll be making survivors laugh (or cry!) all the way to the hook!
