Over a year ago, I bought a house behind my father’s back to get out of his emotionally abusive household. I saved over half my income within a year to put money down on a home, which I was very proud of.
I then cut off both my parents, blocked them, to protect my peace. No one is entitled to your time or your kindness if they will not extend the same to you. Setting boundaries is something that I have found needs to be done in my adulthood. Life is short, and if someone refuses to listen to you, stop wasting your oxygen.
I am so much happier now that I have made these decisions.
