“thanks for visiting guys…have a good life”
MEET: ROLO!
One day we decided we needed a new dog. He was rescued from a shelter out in Benton where they hook up animals with veterans. My boyfriend is a veteran so we decided if we could get basically a free dog we were gonna do it.
Rolo has been a lovely addition to the family.

Adopting a rescue dog like Rolo is not only a compassionate choice but also a meaningful way to support veterans. Rescue Pets Serving Vets is an organization dedicated to pairing animals in shelters with veterans, providing companionship and mutual healing. Dogs rescued from places like Benton shelters often face uncertain futures, but adoption programs like these help give them a second chance at life. Veterans benefit greatly from adopting pets as companions. The unconditional love and emotional support pets provide can help reduce symptoms of PTSD, anxiety, and depression that many veterans experience. Furthermore, caring for a dog promotes daily routines and physical activity, contributing to overall well-being. If you’re considering adopting a dog, exploring local shelters and rescue organizations is a vital first step. Rescue Pets Serving Vets and similar programs offer opportunities to connect veterans and rescue dogs in meaningful ways. When adopting, consider the dog’s temperament, size, and needs to ensure a good match with your lifestyle. Sharing stories like Rolo’s helps raise awareness about the importance of shelter adoptions and veteran support programs. Using hashtags such as #rescuedog, #dogsoflemon8, and #haveagoodlife encourages community engagement and inspires others to adopt rather than shop for pets. Bringing a shelter dog into your family not only saves a life but also enriches yours with loyalty and joy.
