... Read moreOne toxic trait that many people, including myself, struggle with is the belief that we are completely healed from past emotional wounds—until something triggers those old feelings unexpectedly. I’ve noticed that even when I convince myself I’ve moved past certain issues, a small provocation can unleash a strong, sometimes overwhelming, emotional response. This flip between feeling healed and then 'batshit crazy' again is more common than people realize. Personally, I find that these reactions often stem from unresolved feelings or boundaries that haven’t been fully addressed. Recognizing this pattern has helped me pause before reacting, allowing me to consider why I’m suddenly upset. It’s not always easy, but understanding that healing isn’t always linear has been a game-changer. Instead of beating myself up for ‘reacting badly,’ I treat these moments as signals to explore deeper emotions or needs. Managing this toxic trait involves developing healthier coping mechanisms. For example, journaling my triggers, practicing mindfulness, and communicating openly with trusted friends or therapists can significantly reduce the intensity of these reactions. In relationships, acknowledging these triggers with others can promote empathy and prevent misunderstandings. If you see yourself in this description, remember that growth is a journey, not a destination. Embracing the messy parts of healing can ultimately lead to better emotional resilience and stronger connections with others.

This got a lot of hate when I first posted it one of my groups because my progress pic doesn’t end with weight loss… now reposting a year later, it didn’t end at all. When I first posted this a year ago, I posted because I was proud of my bulk, even when I was soo scared of gaining weight.

- Unlearning Toxic Love 🧼🦋
Coming out of a toxic relationship seriously messes with how you view love. I remember being in something that constantly had me questioning myself, walking on eggshells, and thinking that chaos meant love. So when I got into a healthy (current) relationship, it didn’t feel “normal” at first.
