This is a must visit if you are in town in San Fran, it has variety of restaurants, cafes, shopping shops , bars, music and fun. I fell in love with this place. We reserved parking online to save some money, flat rate of $25 at the venue parking is $10 per hr $50 max all day rate. We were there for 5 hours took the boat tour so it was worth it.

Fisherman's Wharf

... Read moreOh my goodness, you absolutely HAVE to add Fisherman's Wharf and Pier 39 to your San Francisco itinerary! When I visited, I honestly didn't know what to expect, but I was completely charmed. It's more than just a tourist spot; it's an experience that truly captures the spirit of the city. One of the first things that caught my eye, and definitely a highlight, was the iconic Pier 39 Carousel. It's not just for kids; I saw so many adults riding it too, myself included! The intricate designs and vibrant colors just bring so much joy to the pier. It's a fantastic photo opportunity and a great way to feel like a kid again. Don't miss it, especially if you're looking for that perfect Instagram moment. Beyond the carousel, the energy of Pier 39 is infectious. I loved strolling along the wooden boardwalk, popping into the unique shops. There's everything from quirky souvenir stores to places selling beautiful local art. And the food! Oh, the food. You simply cannot visit without trying some fresh seafood. I indulged in a delicious Crab Louie salad and some warm sourdough bread from one of the many cafes. For a quick bite, places like Taco Cantina looked super inviting. But let's be honest, the real stars of Pier 39 are the sea lions! Watching them bask in the sun and playfully jostle for space on the K-Dock was absolutely mesmerizing. You could spend ages just observing their antics. It’s a free show and a truly unique San Francisco experience. Speaking of attractions, the Aquarium of the Bay is right there, offering an incredible look at the marine life of the San Francisco Bay. It's perfect if you're looking for something educational and engaging, especially if you're traveling with family. And from the pier, the views of Alcatraz Island are simply breathtaking, especially on a clear day. I took so many photos of the famous prison in the distance. A quick tip from my own experience: planning your parking ahead really pays off. As the original post mentioned, reserving online made a huge difference for our budget. We were able to stay for a good 5 hours, which was just enough time to explore, grab a bite, and even fit in a boat tour. The boat tour was fantastic for seeing the city skyline and getting even closer to Alcatraz and the Golden Gate Bridge. It really rounded out our visit. Whether you're into shopping, delicious food, unique attractions like the carousel and sea lions, or just soaking in the vibrant atmosphere, Fisherman's Wharf and Pier 39 offer something for everyone. It's truly a place I fell in love with and can't wait to visit again!
