Single task >> multitask

2025/11/13 Edited to

... Read moreFrom my experience struggling with scattered focus, I've found that completing a single task, even for just five minutes, dramatically improves my sense of accomplishment and mental clarity. The key is to reduce distractions—turn off all notifications during focused work sessions to avoid constant interruptions that fragment attention. One practical method I've adopted is using productivity apps like Saner, which help capture and prioritize all my thoughts and ideas outside my brain. This offloading not only lightens mental load but also minimizes the urge to multitask due to too many concurrent prompts. The dopamine boost from completing tasks is genuinely motivating. By finishing a task, my brain rewards me with a small hit of dopamine, encouraging continued focus and productivity. This approach transformed my workflow from chaotic multitasking to meaningful, single-task completion, enhancing both quality and efficiency. If you find your productivity suffering despite best efforts, consider testing single-tasking with notification silencing and thought offloading. It’s a straightforward yet powerful strategy that can shift how you work and feel about your achievements.
