Fourth Wing by Rebecca Yarros

____________

In April, I read a non-fiction book about mindfulness that helped me slow down and stay present. I aim to read more on mindfulness and explore nervous system issues in the coming months, especially since I have experienced migraines for over 20 years and was recently diagnosed with Orthostatic Hypotension, previously mistaken for anxiety. Both stem from a nervous system dysfunctioning. (at least for me it does)

Reviews and Ratings of each book I read for April are on my Blog/Goodreads/StoryGraph.

... Read moreApril was a really enriching reading month for me, not just for the variety of books but also for the personal connections I found with some of the topics. Re-reading Nalini Singh’s Archangel series reminded me why those urban fantasy novels had always captivated me—the complex characters and thrilling plots are timeless. On the other hand, diving into mindfulness with Thich Nhat Hanh’s "The Miracle of Mindfulness" really opened up a new perspective. As someone who’s battled migraines and recently learned about orthostatic hypotension, which is connected to nervous system issues, this book helped me understand the importance of being present. Practicing mindfulness has become a practical tool in managing stress and physical symptoms, making me more attentive to my body’s signals. I also appreciated the fresh voices in contemporary romance and fantasy—Rebecca Yarros’ "Fourth Wing" was a standout, engaging me from start to finish and fulfilling my Romanceopoly 2026 challenge prompt perfectly. For anyone dealing with chronic health issues or feeling overwhelmed, I highly recommend adding mindfulness literature to your reading list. It’s an effective complement to fiction, providing both calming strategies and deeper insight into wellness. Looking forward, I plan to explore more books related to nervous system health and mindfulness to continue this journey. In summary, combining fiction favorites with meaningful non-fiction has enriched my April reading experience. Sharing these books and reflections here encourages others to find books that not only entertain but also support personal growth and well-being. What are some books or themes that have recently resonated with you during your reading adventures? Feel free to share your thoughts and favorites!

new year means new reading journal! i don’t know about you, but im super lazy and hate spending time hand drawing spreads. so this year i designed my whole reading journal on canva, printed, cut out, and glued all the spreads in my journal. i ended up creating my spreads the year so i don’t have to

April Reading Wrap-Up: A Steady Reading Month
April was a steady reading month for me—9 books total with one standout 5-star read and a lot of solid 3-star reads (which honestly still means I enjoyed my time). I made my way through 4 out of the 6 books on my March TBR, and I’m still waiting on the other two through Libby… but the wait gave
