Expressive Writing to Release the Weight

Resentment doesn’t punish them—it punishes your body. When bitterness lingers, stress chemistry stays high (cortisol/adrenaline), which can raise blood pressure and inflammation. Your nervous system keeps paying the bill for an old story. The exit isn’t pretending it didn’t happen; it’s naming + reframing so your body can stop carrying it.

Try this (2–3 min):

1. Name it: “I’m still carrying ____.”

2. Write 3 truths you’ve ignored (effort, boundaries, lessons, what you’ll choose now).

3. Present-tense release: “I release what no longer serves my body.”

4. Optional anchor: write that line once with your non-dominant hand; recall one moment you chose peace.

Save this for the next replay. Share it with someone who’s tired of carrying the weight.
