Sound off if in the comments if you’ve ever had a similar experience. Anything from anyone used to be good enough for me bc my standards were in hell. Now it’s not! May my children never experience what I’ve endured for settling for good enough bc no tf it’s not! I’m leading by example 💯
Reflecting on my journey of personal growth, I realize how vital it is not to settle for less than what we truly deserve. For years, I accepted 'good enough' because I thought that was all I could achieve. But as I evolved, I understood that maintaining low standards only limits our potential and happiness. In my experience, setting higher standards isn't just about aiming for perfection; it’s about valuing yourself enough to demand the best in your life, relationships, and opportunities. This mindset shift has empowered me to make choices aligned with my true worth. Moreover, as a parent, it’s crucial to lead by example. Demonstrating self-respect and high standards shows children how to value themselves and resist accepting mediocrity. We want to protect them from the frustrations we faced settling for 'just okay.' This transformation isn't always easy; it requires introspection and courage to change old habits. Yet, the rewards—greater fulfillment, confidence, and healthier relationships—are worth the effort. I encourage anyone feeling stuck in a cycle of low expectations to start small: identify one area in life where you’ve been settling and commit to raising the bar. By sharing experiences and supporting each other, we can break free from the limits of 'good enough' and inspire future generations to embrace their full potential.
