Deity work is WORK

2025/6/2 Edited to

... Read moreSo, you've heard the whispers, felt the pull, or maybe even seen the signs – you're being called to deity work. It’s a beautiful, profound journey, but let me tell you from personal experience: Deity work is WORK. And it's exactly as the image says: 'When you're called, you answer.' But what does 'answering' truly entail? It's far more than just setting up an altar or offering a prayer now and then. For me, deity work involves a deep, consistent commitment. It's about building a relationship, and like any relationship, it requires effort, communication, and showing up even when you don't feel like it. Sometimes the 'work' is obvious: daily offerings, intricate rituals, or studying ancient texts related to your chosen deity. Other times, it's more subtle, manifesting as shadow work, personal growth challenges facilitated by the deity's influence, or channeling their energy into creative endeavors or community service. One of the biggest lessons I've learned is that you 'never start what you can’t finish.' This isn't to scare you, but to highlight the importance of discernment. When you feel that call, take time to research, meditate, and truly understand what a relationship with that specific deity might demand. Are you prepared for the emotional labor, the shifts in your perspective, or the consistent energy output? The 'work' often involves embodying their principles in your daily life. If your deity is associated with justice, you might find yourself called to advocate for others. If they represent creativity, you might be pushed to pursue your artistic passions with more discipline. It’s not always glamorous; sometimes it’s showing up to clean your altar when you're exhausted, or sitting in quiet contemplation when your mind is racing. There will be days when the connection feels strong and clear, and days when it feels distant. Maintaining that connection, especially during the challenging times, is part of the work. You answer not just with action, but with intention, trust, and resilience. It's a journey of co-creation, where you grow and evolve alongside the divine. So, if you're feeling that sacred pull, embrace it, but also respect its depth. Prepare for a transformative path that truly asks you to show up, fully and consistently, because when you're called, you answer – not just once, but every single day in countless ways.
