Homemade Hot Honey 🍯🔥
Hot honey is everywhere right now… and the tiny bottles at the store are not cheap. So instead of paying $10+ for a drizzle, I started making it at home.
It takes 5 minutes, a few simple ingredients, and tastes just as good (if not better).
Ingredients:
• 1 cup honey
• 1–2 teaspoons red pepper flakes
• 1–2 teaspoons apple cider vinegar (or fresh lemon juice)
• Optional: pinch of cayenne for extra heat
Instructions:
1. Add honey and red pepper flakes to a small saucepan.
2. Warm over low heat for about 5 minutes (don’t boil — just gently warm).
3. Remove from heat and let it sit for 5–10 minutes to infuse.
4. Stir in apple cider vinegar.
5. Strain for smooth honey or leave the flakes in for extra heat.
6. Store in a jar at room temperature for up to 1 month.
Same sweet heat. A fraction of the price. And now I can drizzle it on everything without thinking twice 🤍
