The Quiet Places
Not every visit to Mosswood is made in search of discoveries.
Sometimes the greatest treasure is simply finding a quiet place to sit.
Watch the ducks drift without hurry.
Listen to the bees as they wander from flower to flower.
Notice the dragonflies dancing over still water.
Leave a shallow bowl of water for a thirsty hedgehog, a tired bee or a passing blackbird. Add a few stones, so even the smallest visitors have somewhere safe to land.
The Archive has found that the world becomes far more interesting when we stop trying to rush through it.
Today, breathe deeply.
Notice the scent of warm earth and wildflowers.
Wave to the ducks if you wish.
Be gentle with every creature you meet.
After all…
The wildlife was here long before we arrived,
and with a little kindness,
it will still be here to greet the next wandering soul.
