your typical japan itinerary (osaka, kyoto, tokyo) đŸ‡¯đŸ‡ĩđŸœâ›Šī¸đŸŖđŸ—ģ

day 1: sg - osaka

â€ĸ reached osaka in the late evening & we went to see the night view of dotonbori

â€ĸ first stop got to be ichiran ramen!! 🍜 (and it was man’s first time trying)

â€ĸ tried gyoza, takoyaki (so yummy), 10 yen coin cheese pull (i love this sm)

â€ĸ we shopped so much at uniqlo, gu and abc-mart 😭, got our couple new balance shoes at $87 WHAT A STEALLL (on the first day??? u got to be kidding me)

day 2: osaka

â€ĸ katsuoji temple is a must-go even though it’s p tedious to get there

â€ĸ spent the whole morning to noon there!

â€ĸ tried shio pan at sakimoto bakery, ate omurice at dearbros (nice but nothing special), fluffy pancakes at cafe annon namba (worth)

â€ĸ dotonbori again

day 3: osaka

â€ĸ usj but it raineddddd

â€ĸ call us smart or what but we got mario headband from taobao HAHAHAHA

â€ĸ took donkey kong, mario kart, flying dinosaur (heard this is the best ride), jaws, harry potter’s forbidden journey (so freaking dizzy i almost puke)

â€ĸ SO SAD WE DID NOT TAKE HOLLYWOOD DREAM (it was on my list but closed due to rainâ€Ļ)

â€ĸ TRIED THE BUTTERBEER IT WAS SO GOOD

â€ĸ really wanted to try yakitori for dinner and we found yakitori no meimon akiyoshi shinsaibashiminami (quite mid tho)

â€ĸ ofc the melon pan bread ice cream!!

day 4: nara & osaka

â€ĸ ate some delicious eggy bread at dekasan for breakfast (super messy we dk how to eat, recommend to just buy one to share bc it gets quite heavy, and pls eat in hotel or something)

â€ĸ headed to nara park to bow to deers!

â€ĸ went in the late morning and couldn’t find any more shops selling crackers but they still bow to us nonetheless

â€ĸ worth a trip but honestly just that one time

â€ĸ got the famous nakatanidou mochi, once again, it’s nice but nothing special (missed the show tho, if u wna catch it maybe need go around 10 am)

â€ĸ had sushi & okonomiyaki!

â€ĸ WOOHOO WE WENT TO ROUND1 STADIUM HAHAHA kept seeing on tiktok and we knew we had to go for it, we had sm fun!!

day 5 & 6: kyoto

â€ĸ explored gion, maruyama park, kamo river, kodai-ji temple bamboo forest (we went to a less popular one!)

â€ĸ queued 40 mins for the HAIYAYA mochi from mochi mochi just to see them pound (worth a visit tho!!)

â€ĸ tried gokago matcha, had the best tsukemen at mensho takamatsu kawaramachi, ate chao chao gyoza, AND SUPER YUMMY UDON from udon shiogama

day 7: kyoto

â€ĸ woke up at 4 am plus to hike fushimi inari shrine, worth it bc we got to take pics w little to zero people!!

â€ĸ made a bold decision to rent 2 bicycles and cycled around kyoto! got sunburnt tho but 10/10 would do it again hehe

â€ĸ ATE TONKATSU at tonkatsu buta-gorilla-shinkyogoku rokkaku and DONUTS from i’m donut (hands down best donut i have eaten, i would literally buy it everyday it’s so freaking chewy)

day 8, 9, 10: tokyo

â€ĸ saw godzillaaaaaa head, explored shinjuku, shibuya, ginza, harajuku

â€ĸ THE MEOW MEOW TEMPLE (gotokuji temple) IS WORTH THE TRAVEL!! a bit out of the way and it’s a really small temple BUT IT’S CUTE

â€ĸ tried oyako don at oyakodon senmouten marukatsu (SUCH A SMALL SPACE AND IT’S REALLY YUMMY but pricey)

â€ĸ ate RAMENNNN at oreryu shio ramen (found it on tiktok and everyone is raving about it) pretty good!!

â€ĸ decided to skip asakusa and meiji shrine (because we had been to many shrinesâ€Ļ.)

â€ĸ went to alpen tokyo to get some sports apparels at a cheaper rate!! man loved it sm he went like THRICE and nvr fail to come out with something

â€ĸ tried flat udon at godaime hanayama udon ginza (queued for an hour gdi, pretty mid, i won’t go again tho)

â€ĸ had candy apple and why did i only try it so late into the trip gdi

â€ĸ we had some crepes here and there throughout the trip and they are really all q GOOD

â€ĸ HAD A BIG ASS DONUT at randy’s donut, it’s so good but nothing compares to i’m donutâ€Ļ.

â€ĸ we went to a STANDING SUSHI BAR called uogashi nihon-ichi holy shit it was so delicious we ordered more lmao

â€ĸ UDON SHIN WAS SO GOOD (that we had to try the outlet in sg a wk after but we were disappointedâ€Ļ bring me back to tokyoâ€Ļ)

â€ĸ KURA SUSHI WAS AMAZING we ordered so freaking much and it was honestly CHEAP AND OF GOOD QUALITY

â€ĸ finally bought our couple yoshi keychain (we have been finding it since day 1 and yay we found a cheaper one at akihabara)

day 11: tokyo

â€ĸ mt fuji klook tour!!! SUPER WORTH

â€ĸ we were contemplating whether to self drive or book a tour, ended up gg for the latter bc it’s much cheaper than to rent a car for a day

â€ĸ many viewpoints, highly recommend!

â€ĸ first stop was lake yamanaka (see some swans), oshino hakkai, oishi park, lawson, arakurayama sengen park, hikawa clock shop

â€ĸ blessed w nice mt fuji views all day!

â€ĸ OUR LAST MEAL IN JAPAN was some yuzu ramen at afuri karakurenai harajuku!! THE TINGE OF YUZU WAS INTERESTING

... Read moreHaving traveled through Japan myself, I can attest that combining Osaka, Kyoto, and Tokyo in one trip offers an incredible variety of experiences—from the bustling cityscapes to serene temples. One of the highlights I recommend is waking up early to hike Fushimi Inari Shrine in Kyoto. Arriving before the crowds gave me a magical experience walking through thousands of vibrant red torii gates in near solitude. This truly sets the tone for appreciating Japan’s cultural depth. Food lovers will enjoy Osaka’s street eats like takoyaki and gyoza near Dotonbori, as well as legendary spots like Ichiran Ramen where you can customize your bowl. Don't miss trying the butterbeer at Universal Studios Japan—it’s a unique treat if you’re a Harry Potter fan. In Tokyo, exploring neighborhoods like Harajuku or Shibuya provides a contrast of trendy fashion and youthful energy. The Meow Meow Temple (Gotokuji Temple) is indeed worth the extra travel for a cute, off-the-beaten-path visit. Taking a guided Mt. Fuji tour rather than self-driving is smart and budget-friendly. It allows you to relax and see multiple scenic spots like Lake Yamanaka and Oshino Hakkai, soaking in majestic mountain views without stress. Lastly, renting bicycles in Kyoto offers a wonderful way to see attractions at your own pace—just be prepared for some sun exposure! My tip is to carry sunscreen and stay hydrated. Overall, this itinerary blends iconic landmarks, food adventures, and hidden gems that provide a full picture of Japan's charm. It’s a journey I highly recommend, especially for first-time visitors looking to maximize their trip with rich cultural experiences and tasty cuisine.
