🎄 Where East-Meets-West Just Works

We enjoyed a lovely mix of East-meets-West flavours at Seng House & their festive menu is genuinely a great pick for the Christmas season. 🎄🍽️ The food feels unpretentious, comforting & made with real care — paired with warm, unrushed service & those classic Hainanese-Western flavours, everything came together in such an honest, heartwarming way.

What We Enjoyed:

• The Merry Board: A generous sharing platter filled with glazed ham, creamy brie, smoked havarti, tangy tomato jam, fresh grapes & strawberries, nuts, dried apricots & olives. Honestly such a cosy, festive board — great for sharing and perfect for any gathering.

• Wat Dan Hor: Real comfort food. The flat rice noodles had a nice chew with good wok hei & the fish-stock gravy was well-balanced & not too heavy. Topped with 3 large tiger prawns & their signature Hokkaido Snow Pork, it felt like a familiar classic done well.

• Roast Vegetables: Simple, warm & very comforting. The zucchini, carrots and baby potatoes were nicely cooked & made a good, wholesome side to round out the meal.

Seng House keeps tradition alive while modernising Hainanese-Western comfort food. Every dish feels thoughtful, familiar & full of heart. The space is just as lovely — warm mid-century touches, dark wood, clean white walls & soft lighting that make it the perfect spot for slow conversations & holiday feasting.

... Read moreIf you’re exploring unique dining experiences in Singapore, Seng House stands out for its perfect blend of East and West traditions, especially during the festive season. The Merry Board, packed with glazed ham, creamy brie, smoked havarti, and fresh fruits, offers a delightful spread that feels both luxurious and approachable for any gathering. I personally found it ideal for sharing with friends or family, creating a warm, communal dining atmosphere. The Wat Dan Hor is truly a comfort dish worthy of recommendation. The flat rice noodles' satisfying texture combined with a fish-stock based gravy showcases the skillful balance Seng House achieves in their cooking—rich enough to satisfy, yet light enough to keep you coming back for more. Their signature Hokkaido Snow Pork and tiger prawns add a premium touch that elevates this classic dish into something special. Don’t overlook the simple but perfectly cooked roast vegetables; they add wholesome heartiness to the meal, making it rounded and satisfying. Beyond the food, the ambiance—with mid-century design elements and soft lighting—creates a laid-back vibe perfect for slow conversations and holiday celebrations. Located at 214 Tanjong Katong Rd, Seng House makes an excellent choice if you’re in Singapore looking for a place that honors food tradition while offering a fresh, modern twist. Whether you’re celebrating Christmas or seeking creative eateries, this spot is worth adding to your list."
