Low stomach acid, which many people overlook, can prevent proper breakdown of food and lead to uncomfortable symptoms like gas and bloating. Another factor that surprised me was the role of the microbiome—the balance of good and bad bacteria in the gut—which when disrupted, contributes heavily to constipation. Even habits as simple as chewing food thoroughly can influence digestion. Chewing initiates the digestive process, and poor digestion starting in the mouth puts extra strain on the rest of the system. Dehydration combined with mineral imbalances also plays a significant role but is often ignored when seeking relief. Understanding these hidden factors helped me break free from the frustrating cycle of fiber leading to bloating and no bowel movement improvement. Applying practical, personalized strategies that address these root causes made a huge difference in restoring my gut function and overall energy levels.
