How Much I Spent Bi-Weekly As A 22 Year Old in FL

Here’s a brief breakdown of my bi-weekly spending. Being post-grad for the first time is a rude awakening. In college I spent money whenever I wanted without thinking my—and most of the time the money wasn’t mine, so it wasn’t as important to me. But now with my own salary, it’s been crucial to write out a budget and stick to it. I pay 500$ every two weeks for rent, and I’m working on paying my student loans as well, so setting aside 300-500$ a month for that has been a big factor. Aside from everything in my post I set aside another 200$ a month for product restocks like makeup, self-care products or other things that come up. This is my first offical month following this budget so I’m excited to see if I end up with extra or maybe I was too conservative with how much I allowed myself to have. But being disciplined definitely feels rewarding knowing how much money I can set aside each month. #biweeklybudget #lemon8challenge#budgetinmy20s #postundergrad #spendinghabits

... Read moreBudgeting is a critical skill for recent graduates as they transition from college life to financial independence. This young adult’s approach to bi-weekly budgeting reflects real-life challenges faced by many post-grads, especially in balancing fixed costs like rent and student loans with discretionary spending. Rent is the largest recurring expense, with $500 set aside every two weeks, which equals approximately $1,000 monthly—typical for Florida urban rentals. Student loan repayments, reserved between $300 and $500 monthly, demonstrate responsible debt management. Allocating funds for personal care and product restocks ($200 monthly) highlights maintaining quality of life while staying within budget. The OCR content reveals additional budgeting insights: spending roughly $90-$100 weekly on groceries emphasizes prioritizing home-cooked meals to save money. Dining out and social activities are budgeted at $200 monthly, with a focus on weekend outings only once a week, encouraging moderation in lifestyle indulgences. Investing in a $15 monthly gym membership and budgeting $80 monthly for gas supports a healthy, active lifestyle through affordable, free, or low-cost activities such as beach visits, pools, or local gyms. This budget showcases a disciplined lifestyle balancing essential expenses and personal enjoyment while leveraging free or inexpensive recreational options typical in Florida. It is important for post-grads to continue tracking expenditures regularly, adjust allocations based on actual spending patterns, and build emergency savings whenever possible. For anyone entering their first year post-graduation, creating a detailed bi-weekly budget that includes rent, loan payments, groceries, personal care, and leisure spending is essential. Utilizing free activities and limiting discretionary spending allows for financial stability and future planning. Staying disciplined, like this 22-year-old, provides peace of mind and financial growth as young adults build their careers and lives.

The only way I could do that was if you wanted me too I could come and pick it out and then I can go pick up it from your place or you could just pick me out of there or you could come pick me out and I could just drop you back in my truck or you can come pick me back up if that’s easier because I’m just not sure if I
