How Calisthenics Gave Me My Dream Body

Here’s my take on calisthenics. I’m HUGE on balance in my fitness journey. I love to lift heavy weights, but I know it’s important to still be able to move quick and feel light on my feet. Mixing in calisthenics or body weight movements helps me do just that. Growing up as a gymnast it was normal to focus on body weight movements— like pull ups, push ups, air-squats and lunges. Throughout college those stayed part of my workout routine and I learned to love that style of movement. I try to super set most of my lifting movements with something body weight. For example— after each set of barbell lunges I do 20 sit ups.
