Quick & Easy Alfredo Pasta Dinner😋

This was so good and easy to make.

Everything was purchased from Trader Joes.

Ingredients:

Heart Pasta & Rotini Pasta

Frozen Broccoli

Spinach

Sausage

Parmesan Cheese

Heavy Whipping Cream

Frozen Garlic cube

Pasta:

•Boil water in a pot with a little salt and oil.

•Add both heart pasta and rotini pasta into boiled water until cooked.

•Drain water when done and let sit in the bowl until you're ready to put pasta into the sauce.

Broccoli:

• Add butter to a pan with lemon pepper, black pepper, and garlic cube season (add your desired amount).

• Add in your broccoli and toss it all around until all the broccoli is covered with the season.

• Put the cover on the pan and let the broccoli steam for about 5-10 mins.

• Set aside your broccoli in a bowl when it's cooked to your desired liking.

Sausage:

• Cut up sausage into cubes and then add it to a pan with butter and garlic cubes.

• Cook sausage until golden brown.

Alfredo Sauce:

• Using the same pan as the broccoli, add in heavy whipping cream.

• Add in your seasoning. I used sazon, garlic cube, cayenne pepper, and onion powder. (season to your liking)

•Also add in parmesan cheese and spinach.

• Stir until you get a nice creamy sauce.

If you need to add more season or cheese please do so.

After you make Alfredo sauce, add in your sausage, broccoli, and pasta. Stir until the alfredo sauce is throughout the entire food.

I sprinkled some parmesan cheese on top of my pasta when it was finished as well.

First off, let's talk about the pasta itself. While I love using a mix of heart pasta and rotini because it's fun, rotini is truly fantastic for alfredo. Why? Those spirals and grooves are perfect for catching and holding onto that rich, creamy alfredo sauce. It means every bite is packed with flavor, and you don't end up with sauce pooling at the bottom of your bowl. If you can't find rotini, penne or fettuccine are also great choices for a substantial pasta dinner, but give rotini a try if you can – it makes a difference! Now, for the star of the show: the alfredo sauce. Getting that perfect creamy consistency can sometimes feel tricky. My biggest tip? Keep your heat moderate and whisk consistently, especially when adding the Parmesan cheese. If it gets too hot, the sauce can break or become grainy. If your sauce is too thick, a splash of the pasta cooking water can work wonders to thin it out perfectly, plus it adds a bit more starch for emulsification. If it's too thin, a little more Parmesan cheese or a tiny bit of cream cheese can thicken it right up. I sometimes add a pinch of nutmeg to my alfredo sauce – it's a secret ingredient that surprisingly enhances the richness without making it taste like dessert! Thinking about additions, the sausage and broccoli mentioned in my recipe are fantastic, but don't be afraid to customize! For a vegetarian option, skip the sausage and add extra spinach or even some sautéed mushrooms. If you don't have frozen broccoli, fresh florets work just as well, just blanch them quickly before adding them to the pan. And speaking of Trader Joe's, their frozen garlic cubes are a game-changer for speed, but fresh minced garlic will always add an amazing aroma if you have the time. I also love adding a sprinkle of red pepper flakes for a little kick, especially with the savory sausage. What about making this a balanced pasta dinner? I always try to pair my rich alfredo with a crisp side salad dressed with a light vinaigrette. It cuts through the richness and adds a fresh element. And if you're like me and love garlic bread, a warm, crusty slice is the ultimate companion for soaking up any extra sauce. Finally, leftovers! This dish is surprisingly good the next day. To reheat, I usually add a splash of milk or a little extra heavy whipping cream to a pan with the pasta on low heat, stirring gently until it's creamy again. It helps bring the sauce back to life without drying out the pasta.
