There are so many different apps out in the world now- these are some that I’m trying out in the bookish world.
📖 Kindle - no explanation needed on this one. I love being able to read regardless of where I am.
📖 Audible - I get to work and IMMEDIATELY have a book on in the background to listen to. I swear it’s the only reason I’ll hit my reading goal this year.
📖 Goodreads - I find so many great book recommendations here and love being able to connect with fellow readers.
📖 Reese’s Book Club - I made it a goal of mine to read all of the books that they’ve recommended. I have a lot of work to do.
📖 Bookmory - This calendar 🤌 Saves me the work of having to build my own.
📖 Bookly - probably my favorite right now. I love chatting how many pages that I read. They also have a winter flurry button currently so I get to see snow fall on my screen. ❄️
📖 TBR Bookshelf - again. This view 💛 I love watching my progress fill out as I finish another book.
📖 StoryGraph - this is my newest one and I’m still learning. Send pointers if you’ve got them.
... Read moreAs a passionate reader, diving into the world of book apps has completely transformed my reading journey. Beyond the core apps like Kindle and Audible that many of us already love, there’s a whole universe of tools designed to enhance every aspect of being a book lover, from finding free reads to tracking your progress to the last pages read.
One of the questions I often get is about finding free reading apps or even free books online. While dedicated platforms offer subscriptions, don't overlook your local library! Apps like Libby (OverDrive) connect directly to your library card, giving you access to countless ebooks and audiobooks for free. I've discovered so many fantastic reads this way, often integrating seamlessly with my Kindle app. It’s a game-changer for expanding your reading list without breaking the bank. For those looking for self improvement ebooks and related audio content or wellness titles, many of these library apps also have extensive collections, and Goodreads can be a goldmine for finding curated lists and recommendations from other readers interested in similar genres.
Speaking of Goodreads, it's not just for tracking what you've read; it's a vibrant community! Beyond just viewing your goodreads bookshelf, I love exploring best book clubs to join online through its groups feature. Whether you're a mystery lover or into historical fiction, you can find a dedicated club to discuss your latest reads. It’s also incredibly helpful for discovering what my friends are reading and getting personalized recommendations, which is great for building out my 2024 Reading Goal.
For anyone serious about monitoring their reading habits, best book tracking app contenders like Bookly, StoryGraph, and TBR Bookshelf are indispensable. I personally adore Bookly for its detailed pages read stats and the visual satisfaction of seeing my progress. StoryGraph, my newest discovery, offers fantastic insights into the Moods of the books I read, helping me understand my preferences better. And TBR Bookshelf provides such a satisfying visual of my virtual shelf filling up as I complete books. These apps aren't just about logging titles; they’re about understanding and celebrating your unique reading journey.
And for those who live for audiobooks, the Audible experience is truly seamless. The audible mobile app library screen is so user-friendly, making it easy to jump between books, discover new releases, and keep my ears busy during commutes or chores. It’s an essential part of how I hit my reading goals every year. Exploring these book apps has genuinely made my reading life richer and more organized.
you should add fable and libby. I'm obsessed with fable because of their book clubs and short synopsys
