Guacamole
Guacamole is one of my favorite go-to recipes whenever I want to prepare a quick and delicious snack. Making authentic guacamole is surprisingly easy and requires just a few fresh ingredients like ripe avocados, lime juice, salt, and some diced onions or tomatoes. I usually prefer to add a touch of chopped cilantro and a bit of jalapeño for that perfect balance of freshness and a hint of heat. The key to great guacamole is using perfectly ripe avocados. They should be soft to the touch but not mushy. When preparing, I gently mash them with a fork to keep some chunks for texture, which I find makes the dip more enjoyable. A quick tip to keep guacamole green longer is to press a piece of plastic wrap directly onto the surface or add extra lime juice, which prevents browning. This is especially handy if you’re prepping ahead for a party or family gathering. I love serving guacamole with homemade or store-bought tortilla chips, but it also pairs wonderfully with grilled meats, tacos, or as a fresh topping on salads. It’s a versatile dip that’s not only delicious but also packed with healthy fats from avocados, making it a nutritious addition to any meal.
