Grief That Comes

... Read moreExperiencing grief from outgrowing aspects of your life can be deeply challenging yet transformative. Unlike traditional grief that follows loss by death, this kind of grief revolves around personal growth and the painful realization of evolving beyond familiar roles or people. Many do not talk about this particular grief, even though it impacts mental and emotional well-being. When you outgrow a situation, whether it’s a friendship, a relationship, or even a mindset, the initial reaction is often confusion mixed with guilt or sadness. You might feel torn between staying in comfort zones and pursuing your authentic path. Importantly, healing is not merely surviving these feelings but actively learning to let go of old attachments and expectations. One profound aspect of this process is learning to exist without the chaos or the constant role of ‘fixer’ or ‘rescuer.’ For many, self-worth has been tied to being needed or carrying others’ burdens. Letting go means redefining who you are when those external validations disappear. It may feel unsettling but it ultimately leads to profound inner peace. I found this journey helped me realize that peace isn’t a sign of weakness but a signal you are choosing yourself and prioritizing self-love. Resting and stepping away from burnout doesn’t mean you stopped caring but that you respect your limits and nurture your growth sustainably. It’s a reminder that your worth isn’t contingent on proving yourself or being indispensable to others. Reflecting on questions like “Who would I be if my worth wasn’t attached to being needed?” opens new doors to self-discovery. These moments of reflection invite us to embrace change and honor our emotional journey rather than rush through it. Embracing this form of grief with compassion allows for genuine healing and growth, much beyond just surviving the storm.

Let’s talk about the ADHD grief no one warns you about. It’s not just forgetting things or losing focus. It’s mourning all the years you didn’t understand why you were different. The grades that could’ve been higher. The relationships that might’ve lasted longer. The burnout you thought was lazines

Grief Is Love That Still Has Somewhere To Go
I used to think grief had an ending. That one day I would wake up and the ache would simply be gone. Instead, I learned something different. Grief does not disappear. It changes. It softens around the edges, but it continues to remind us of the love we carry. Some days, memories bring a smile. O
