Carpentry internal color pvc

Most homeowners think PVC is all the same.

But choosing the wrong one can affect yellowing, scratches, and overall look over time 👀

Here’s the simple breakdown 👇

🔹 White PVC

Clean & modern look

Makes small spaces feel brighter

BUT can yellow over time if quality is low

Scratches more obvious

🔹 Colour PVC (grey, wood tone, etc.)

More forgiving for scratches

Less visible ageing

Easier to maintain long term

Slightly less “bright” look

🧠 Gen Z Carpenter tip:

If your house gets strong sunlight or heavy usage — colour PVC usually lasts nicer visually.

Before choosing, don’t just ask “nice or not?”

Ask 👉 “How will this look after 3–5 years?”

Save this before your carpentry discussion 🔖

... Read moreWhen selecting internal colour PVC for your carpentry, it’s important to consider not only initial appearance but also longevity and maintenance in your specific living environment. I once had a client question why I limited the choices to only a few colour PVC options. The challenge is that excess waste from multiple PVC colours accumulates quickly and managing leftover materials is difficult, especially in space-constrained places like Singapore. This often leads to unused scraps and higher costs. Additionally, white PVC, while clean and modern, is prone to easily showing dirt and scratches, resulting in a worn look sooner than expected. In contrast, coloured PVC options like grey or wood tones are more forgiving; scratches and hand marks blend in better, and the materials tend to resist yellowing under strong sunlight or heavy daily use. Price differences between white and coloured PVCs aren’t usually significant, yet coloured PVC is often the more practical choice for durability and aesthetics over several years. Industry practice now favors coloured PVC for these reasons. From my personal carpentry projects, opting for colour PVC significantly reduces maintenance efforts and keeps cabinetry looking fresh much longer. So, before your next renovation or cabinet purchase, ask yourself not just "Does it look nice now?" but "How will it look in 3 to 5 years?" This foresight saves money and frustration down the line, ensuring your carpentry remains attractive and functional for years to come.

Ngl, it wasn’t easy. Took me months to fine tune because ideas kept changing and we honestly kept clashing in colours. But in no way am I a professional, and I’m fortunate enough to be able to visualise spaces and colours. This was just a way for me to ensure that the entire house flowed se
