No sabía que me estaba adaptando…
Yo pensaba que así era la vida.
Cuando creces así,
no lo cuestionas.
Lo aprendes. Te conviertes en eso.
Y un día te das cuenta…
esto no soy yo.
Esto es lo que aprendí a ser.
Ahí es donde todo cambia.

In my personal experience, realizing that many of our behaviors are adaptations rather than our authentic selves is a profound turning point. Growing up, we often absorb patterns and routines from our environment without questioning them, believing that what we learn is simply ‘how life is.’ However, awareness comes when we begin to notice a disconnect between who we are and what we've become through these learned behaviors. This concept of 'adapting' reflects a survival mechanism that helps us fit into social, familial, or cultural expectations, but it can also lead to losing touch with our true identity. In one of the episodes titled "MentePropia: El Lugar Donde Aprendí A Adaptarme," the focus is on understanding where these adaptations come from and how they shape our mindset. The journey to change starts with self-knowledge (#autoconocimiento) — acknowledging the habits and thought patterns we have inherited or developed unconsciously. This deeper awareness opens the door to a mindset shift (#cambiomentalidad), allowing one to feel like a different person (#comosentirtecomotuotra) in the process of emotional healing (#sanacionemocional). Breaking old habits (#romperhabitos) is challenging but crucial for reclaiming your individuality and happiness. For me, practicing mindfulness and journaling about my feelings helped me see clearly which behaviors were truly mine and which were learned adaptations. It’s a gradual transformation, often accompanied by emotional ups and downs, but the result is a more authentic and fulfilling life experience. If you find yourself questioning who you really are beneath the layers of adaptation, know that this realization is the first step toward freedom. Engage in activities that promote self-reflection, seek supportive communities, and consider therapeutic options to assist in this healing process. Ultimately, embracing this change can lead to a stronger sense of identity and emotional well-being.
