Recap of week 1

2025/8/29 Edited to

... Read moreStarting a garden for the first time can be both exciting and a learning experience. During my first week building this herb and veggie garden, I realized how important it is to plan your space intelligently, considering sunlight exposure and soil quality. One key tip that helped during this first week was capturing rainwater to naturally irrigate the plants, reducing the reliance on tap water and promoting sustainability. Beginner gardeners should look into simple rainwater catchment systems or even using buckets to collect runoff during rainfall. When beginning your herb and vegetable garden, start small to avoid being overwhelmed. Choosing easy-to-grow plants like basil, mint, tomatoes, and lettuce can give early success and motivation to continue. Regular observation is crucial. Each day, noting growth progress or any plant stress signs early on allows for timely adjustments, such as watering frequency or pest management. Lastly, trying something new, like mixing different herbs or introducing vertical gardening techniques, can make the experience more enriching and productive. Week 1 is all about understanding your garden’s needs and setting up a sustainable routine. Stay tuned for more updates and tips as the vegetable and herb seedlings start to flourish!
