Liver
The Liver is a large digestive organ that produces bile to help digest fats and remove toxins from the body. Bile travels through the Right hepatic duct and Left hepatic duct, which join to form the Common hepatic duct. Bile can be stored in the Gallbladder and released through the Cystic duct into the Common bile duct. This duct empties into the Duodenum to aid digestion. Blood reaches the liver through the Hepatic portal vein and Hepatic artery. Nearby organs such as the Stomach, Pancreas, and Spleen assist in digestion, nutrient processing, enzyme secretion, and immune functions within the abdominal cavity.
