are you a perfectionist too?

what I need to hear currently on my wellness journey as a perfectionist 🥲

I started my wellness journey in 2020 and have made SO much progress since then! I’ve also had my ups and downs during the last 5 years too. I got diagnosed with PCOS last year which was a game changer.

I still get fixated on things that aren’t perfect which can make me really upset. I’ve been trying to remind myself that perfection isn’t the goal!

I’m human and will never be perfect!! Instead, I’m reminding myself how far I’ve come.

I’m not waking up every morning sweating, heart racing, so anxious, or exhausted. I may still have breakouts, bloating, flare ups, etc. but the difference is huge.

Gratitude is so powerful and helps our body feel safe!

What’s one thing that you’ve struggled with on your wellness journey?🥹

... Read moreEmbarking on a wellness journey especially as a perfectionist can be both empowering and challenging. While striving for progress, many of us get caught up fixating on imperfections in our health or routines, which can lead to frustration and discouragement. It's important to remember that feeling good every single day isn’t realistic, and having 'bad days' is a natural part of healing and growth. For example, managing a condition like PCOS requires patience and acknowledgment that flare-ups such as breakouts or bloating might still happen. These moments do not erase the strides taken towards better health. Rather than aiming for flawless outcomes, focusing on consistent habits and celebrating small victories builds sustainable wellness. Nutrition and stress management play crucial roles in how we physically feel day-to-day. Often, initial healthy changes might not bring immediate euphoria—they demand time, commitment, and sometimes tolerance adjustments, such as being more sensitive to inflammatory foods like fast food. Despite these realities, cultivating gratitude shifts our mindset, helping our bodies feel safe and fostering resilience. If you find yourself trapped by perfectionist tendencies, consider reframing your journey: appreciate how far you’ve come instead of fixating on what remains imperfect. Wellness is a lifelong path with ups and downs, and embracing imperfections enriches your experience rather than detracts from it. What are some struggles you've encountered with perfectionism in your wellness journey? Sharing and hearing others' realistic experiences can be a powerful reminder that progress, not perfection, is the true goal.
