2024 Self Reflection
2024 was all over the place at times. There were definitely some amazing moments✨✨ At the same time there were some really hard ones.
I learned so much this year but these are 3 things that really stuck out:
1. Rainbows Come After the Rain 🌈: I lost my childhood dog this year. That was really really hard as he’d been in my life for 15 years. I still get sad thinking about it but I know that there is light after darkness and I really had to focus and remember that this year.
2. Active not Passive⭐️: I am someone who always wants to do something. I love going out to things. One thing I struggled with a lot this year was missing out on events #fomo I found myself really disappointed when I didn’t make it to major things. I noticed I would continually think of a big event a whole year prior and talk about how much I wanted to be there. Do nothing about it for a whole year and then when the event arrived be disappointed I couldn’t go. I figured out that the thing stopping me was me. If I want to be the main character in my life then I need to take the initiative to be the main character. That means taking an active stance in my life. When these events come up a year prior I will no longer be sitting back and wishing. Instead I’ll be taking action, working harder, saving up, planning ahead to be there. Obviously something I truly can’t control but for what I can… 2025 is the year I stop accepting passivity.
3. Finding Beauty in the World Around Me🌎: There’s so much superficiality in the world. Sometimes it’s so easy to get caught up in it. This year I felt like I had a lot of moments where I just got to appreciate the beauty in the world. I’ll be taking that with me more into 2025.
As 2024 comes to a close, reflection becomes essential for personal growth. Engaging in self-reflection helps identify key lessons that shape our mindset and actions for the upcoming year. One prominent lesson is the importance of seizing opportunities. Many individuals often fall into a pattern of passivity, wishing to participate in significant events without making the effort to plan and prepare. Taking initiative not only enriches our experiences but also empowers us to shape our narrative. Furthermore, finding beauty in everyday life encourages a positive outlook, reminding us to appreciate the world beyond superficial distractions. Embracing these lessons can foster resilience and motivate us to strive for fulfillment in 2025. As shared in your reflections, the journey involves ups and downs, but cultivating a mindset that recognizes growth amid challenges leads to true self-discovery and happiness. Keep these insights close as you transition into the new year.
