เวลาอยาก “ปฏิเสธภาษาอังกฤษ” ให้สุภาพและไม่ทำให้อีกฝ่ายรู้สึกแย่ เราว่าหลักง่าย ๆ คือ 1) ขอบคุณ/ชื่นชมก่อน 2) ปฏิเสธแบบชัดเจนแต่ไม่แรง 3) ให้เหตุผลสั้น ๆ เท่าที่จำเป็น 4) เสนอทางเลือก (ถ้าทำได้) หรือปิดบทสนทนาอย่างสุภาพ ประโยคพื้นฐานที่ใช้ได้แทบทุกสถานการณ์ - Thank you for asking, but I can’t. = ขอบคุณที่ชวนนะ/ที่ถามนะ แต่เราทำไม่ได้ - I’m sorry, I’m not available. = ขอโทษนะ เราไม่สะดวก/ไม่ว่าง - I’d love to, but I have a prior commitment. = อยากไปนะ แต่มีนัด/ภารกิจที่ติดไว้ก่อน - I’m afraid I can’t. = เกรงว่าจะทำไม่ได้ (สุภาพมาก) กรณี “ฉันไม่สะดวก” ภาษาอังกฤษ (เลี่ยงการพูดแรง ๆ) - It’s not convenient for me right now. = ตอนนี้ไม่สะดวกสำหรับเรา - I can’t make it at the moment. = ตอนนี้ไป/ทำไม่ได้จริง ๆ - Now isn’t a good time for me. = ตอนนี้ไม่ใช่เวลาที่เหมาะสำหรับเรา กรณีคนขอยืมเงิน (ปฏิเสธนิ่ม ๆ แต่ชัด) - I’m sorry, I can’t lend money right now. = ขอโทษนะ ตอนนี้เราให้ยืมเงินไม่ได้ - I’m on a tight budget this month. = เดือนนี้งบตึงมาก - I hope you understand. = หวังว่าจะเข้าใจนะ กรณีคนชวนไปเที่ยว/ไปกินข้าว/ไปงาน - Thanks for inviting me, but I’ll pass this time. = ขอบคุณที่ชวนนะ แต่ขอผ่านรอบนี้ - Maybe next time! = ไว้โอกาสหน้านะ - I can’t, but have fun! = เราไปไม่ได้ แต่ขอให้สนุกนะ กรณีขอให้ช่วยทำงานแทน/พูดแทน/เขียนแทน - I’m sorry, I can’t take that on. = ขอโทษนะ เรารับเพิ่มไม่ได้ - I’m already tied up with other tasks. = ตอนนี้ติดงานอื่นอยู่ - You might want to ask (name/team). = ลองถาม…ดูไหม (เป็นทางเลือกที่สุภาพ) กรณีขอข้อมูลส่วนตัว/ขอเบอร์/ขอไลน์ (ตั้งขอบเขตแบบสุภาพ) - I’m not comfortable sharing my personal information. = เราไม่สบายใจที่จะให้ข้อมูลส่วนตัว - I prefer to keep that private. = เราขอเก็บเป็นเรื่องส่วนตัวนะ - Sorry, I don’t share my number. = ขอโทษนะ เราไม่ให้เบอร์ ทริคเล็ก ๆ ที่ช่วยให้ฟังดูสุภาพขึ้น - เติมคำว่า Thanks / Sorry / I’m afraid… นำหน้า - ใช้ but + เหตุผลสั้น ๆ (ไม่ต้องเล่ายาว) - ปิดท้ายด้วยความหวังดี เช่น Have a great day / Take care ถ้าต้องการให้ดูเป็นธรรมชาติ ลองซ้อมพูด 2 เวอร์ชัน: เวอร์ชันสั้น (ปฏิเสธทันที) และเวอร์ชันนุ่ม (ขอบคุณ + ปฏิเสธ + ทางเลือก) จะช่วยให้เรากล้าพูด “No” แบบสุภาพได้มากขึ้นค่ะ
